The office of Dean Israel and Associates offers natural-looking restorations that are custom made to aesthetically and functionally enhance your smile. Two of our most popular restoration options for lost and damaged teeth are crowns and bridges. We offer high-quality crowns and bridges manufactured using zirconia and porcelain, resulting in a high-gloss restoration that mimics the shine of real teeth.
A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is used to completely cover a tooth above the gum line. Crowns can be used to strengthen damaged teeth so that they appear and function normally. Crowns are also used as protective covers for teeth that have recently undergone root canal treatment to protect them from fractures.
Traditionally, the installation of crowns takes two or more visits to a dentist’s office. This involves taking impressions of your teeth and fitting a temporary restoration until the permanent one is prepared in a dental laboratory.
Modern technology using CAD/CAM dentistry allows us to produce your crowns in our office while you wait. This has been made possible by an advanced restoration system known as CEREC (an acronym for Chairside Economical Restorations Esthetic Ceramic) which uses a computerized 3D model of your teeth and a dental milling machine to design and produce your restorations immediately.
A dental bridge is one of the solutions that can be used to fill the gaps or spaces caused by multiple missing teeth between healthy, natural teeth. When one or more of your teeth are missing, the gap created can cause the nearby healthy teeth to shift out of position. This often leads to bite issues and other oral problems. A dental bridge fills the space caused by missing teeth. A bridge consists of two dental crowns placed on the natural teeth at both ends and fused to artificial teeth between them which fill the gap.
The maintenance of crowns and bridges is easy. These restorations can last many years when properly cared for. All you need to do is follow a good at-home oral hygiene regimen and regularly visit our office for checkups.
